About me
I am Luis Urquiza Aguiar, an Associate Professor in the Department of Electronics, Telecommunications, and Networks at Escuela Politécnica Nacional (EPN) in Quito, Ecuador. I also lead the Wireless Network Research Group at EPN.
I earned my BSc in Electronics and Networking from Escuela Politécnica Nacional (EPN) in 2008, followed by MSc and PhD degrees in Telematics Engineering from the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC) in Barcelona, Spain, in 2012 and 2016, respectively. These graduate degrees were made possible through scholarships awarded by SENESCYT, an Ecuadorian government agency. Additionally, in 2018, I obtained an MSc in Statistics and Operations Research from the Facultat de Matemàtiques i Estadística at UPC.
My research interests focus on wireless networks, mathematical modeling, and the optimization of large-scale telecommunication systems. I am an active member of the IEEE, the IEEE Vehicular Technology Society, and the IEEE Intelligent Transportation Systems Society.
